This project was begun in May, 2001, and 18 months after slit draining and sandcarpet installation, we returned to renovate the ground including the wicket block.
The main ground and cricket outfield was corred with a hollow tyne corer. This machine was also verticutting the turf, removing the thatch at the same time (photo A).
Sand was spread over the grassed area at 5mm and groomed in (photo B).

The wicket block was then stripped of 50mm of a Darwin/Thai soil, sterilised and stored under cover. The soil was then thoroughly mixed and replaced on the block (photo C).
After levelling, the stolons are replaced (photo D).
